Components of the Test:
Serum Potassium level (mEq/L or mmol/L)
Understanding the Test Report:
Normal: 3.5 – 5.5 mEq/L
Low Potassium (<3.5): Muscle weakness, cramps, arrhythmias
High Potassium (>5.5): Kidney issues, medications, dangerous arrhythmias
Both high and low potassium can be serious.
